Unemployment Claims TeleCenter

CI: Meeting the Highest Demands for Flexibility and Adaptability

Imagine taking six hundred staff from thirty separate offices across Washington state and consolidating them into three TeleCenters. Sound like a nightmare? One would think, but not for the Employment Security Department. Recent developments allowed the department to house a third of the staff in one building near Seattle. Now, rather than having their customers visit the offices with a question, all customers need do is pick up the phone and dial the TeleCenter - from status on an unemployment check to help in finding a job.

  • The Unemployment Claims TeleCenter requires flexibility of it's employees and asks the same of it's furniture. Here, a peninsula worksurface doubles as a meeting space.
  • This System XXI workstation has a feeling of openness while maintaining a desirable degree of privacy, even when space is tight.
  • With FlexStation, the TeleCenter staff is able to adjust components and work surfaces to meet individual needs.
  • Perry stackable chairs and modular Europa trapezoid tables worked well in the TeleCenter conference rooms.
  • In the kitchen, Alta seating and Europa pedestal tables offer style, comfort and flexibility for employee events.

This monumental task was a chance for Correctional Industries to provide the latest in office furnishings for the TeleCenter. CI staff worked closely with facilities staff to determine workstation layouts and components that would accommodate the entire building. System XXI and FlexStation were chosen because they both offered visual openness while maintaining a degree of privacy, and blended seamlessly with the rest of the TeleCenter's furniture.

Creating a flexible workspace that could accommodate employee needs was also important. With FlexStation, TeleCenter staff are able to adjust their work surfaces and components, and locking mobile pedestals give employees space to store their personal items.

Working together, the Washington Employment Claims TeleCenter and Correctional Industries were able to accommodate employee needs and help get the TeleCenter back to business.
