Paying It Forward

Paying It Forward

For many of us the day before Thanksgiving is a time to prepare the big meal, clean the house, bake pies, and set the table, but at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (CRCC) it was a time for the offender graduates of the Job Hunter class to give back to the community.

Working with CI Offender Workforce Development Specialist, Tara Proctor, the 14 workers organized a pizza fund raiser to help support the Jubilee Leadership Academy, a nonprofit organization serving at risk youth. The event was so well organized that the shift Lieutenant, "didn't have to worry about a thing, and knew that they had it under control."

Utilizing the customer service skills that they were taught during their Job Hunter class, the workers raised over $3,500 for Jubilee through the sale of over 1,100 pizzas and hundreds of snacks and beverages.
